Property Maintenance Olander Relies on Wille All Year Round

Property Maintenance Olander in Finland is a Helsinki metropolitan area–based company founded in 2006, providing comprehensive property maintenance services with a versatile fleet of machines. Remarkably, the very first Wille acquired over 20 years ago is still in active use today.

The company has grown steadily over the years without advertising or external financing. Its development is rooted in a strong family-business spirit and a hands-on approach, where quality of work and long-term customer relationships are at the core.

Everything began more than two decades ago in property maintenance, sparking a growth journey that continues today, driven largely by customer recommendations.

Founder Timo Olander has a background in agriculture and the metal industry, which is evident in the company’s day-to-day operations and equipment choices.

“We’ve always wanted to own our machines. We’ve never used rental equipment,” he explains.

From One Wille to Eleven

The first Wille was acquired more than 20 years ago, at the very beginning of the company’s journey. It was Wille 355, which is still in use today.

“That first 355 is still with us. Since then, we’ve practically had a new machine every year,” says Olander.

The long service life is no coincidence. Wille machines are designed for demanding use, with a strong frame, balanced weight distribution, and hydraulics powerful enough for heavy attachments. These characteristics translate directly into reliability year after year.

Today, the company operates eleven Wille machines, alongside additional equipment. With around 30 operators, the machines are in active use throughout the year.

A Favorite Among Operators

Wille isn’t just the employer’s choice; it’s also a favorite among operators.

“Some drivers like them so much they almost demand Wille. The feedback is practically all positive,” says site supervisor Jari Tikka.

Driving comfort is especially noticeable during shifting and in tight spaces.

“During shifting, it’s more comfortable than other brands. And in yards, it’s incredibly agile. It fits into tight spaces, and you always get the sand collected properly,” Tikka continues.

Excellent visibility, precise handling, and the articulated frame make operation well controlled, particularly in urban environments. Attachment control is accurate, which directly affects work quality in tasks like sand removal and sweeping. Overall driving comfort helps reduce fatigue even during long shifts.

Timo Olander laughs as he recalls one operator’s comment: “I’d rather be in Wille than at home.”

Machines in Year-Round Use

In property maintenance, work never truly stops; it simply changes with the seasons, and the machine must adapt accordingly.

“Sand removal in spring, lawn care in summer, leaves in autumn, and snow ploughing and sanding in winter. Wille is in use all year round,” Olander explains.

Versatility is a key reason why the fleet is built around Wille machines.

“You could say it’s the most versatile machine on the market. With the right attachments, you can handle practically everything,” Olander adds.

Property Maintenance Olander uses a wide range of attachments, including plows, sand spreaders, bucket brooms with dust suppression, and various washing systems. Wille’s strong hydraulics and versatile connection options enable efficient attachment use every day of the year.

Reliable Service Supporting Everyday Operations

A growing fleet also places high demands on maintenance. Cooperation with the Finnish dealer Wihuri Oy Technical Trade has been crucial.

“We always get help quickly. If not the same day, then by the next morning at the latest,” Olander says.

“And most importantly, they keep us informed. The service team calls to let us know how things are progressing,” Tikka adds.

Fast response times and good spare parts availability are clearly reflected in daily operations. Downtime has been minimized, and towing jobs have been rare.

Equipment Evolves with the Work

Development in newer Wille models is clearly visible in everyday use.

“There’s more storage space now, and the machines keep improving,” notes site supervisor Patrik Olander.

The Wille 475 series is used the most, particularly thanks to its wash equipment options. However, all machines are evenly deployed, with each accumulating an average of 500–700 operating hours per year.

Wille’s development has focused especially on operator ergonomics, control precision, and work efficiency. This is evident in how smoothly the machines adapt to different tasks.

“The 300-series is next on our list for these property maintenance jobs,” Timo reveals.
